Members of the CHS Red Raider and Shelbyville Central baseball teams came together for a prayer Sunday. The two teams were playing on Saturday, May 8, when home plate umpire Gerald Tidwell collapsed and passed away during the game. Tidwell was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Munn tossed a perfect game and the Lady Raiders ripped 15 hits and plated 10 runs to blowout Shelbyville 10-0 in six innings Friday night in Manchester. Coffee Middle School’s golf team was eliminated from the postseason tournament with a loss to Tullahoma Thursday at Lakewood Country Club. Coffee County’s defense held Tullahoma without a goal for two halves Wednesday night in Tullahoma. Coffee County’s tennis Lady Raiders have advanced to the District tennis finals as a team after a 4-3 win over Marshall County in the semi-finals.
