Lady Raider basketball looking for teams for Saturday scramble

Coffee County’s Lady Raider basketball team will host a 4-person scramble at 1 p.m. Saturday at WillowBrook Golf Course. Fee is $400 per team, which includes tournament entry for 4 players, lunch at Boskeys, Cart Fees, Dinner at Praters BBQ after teh tournament and a player goody bag. Lunch will begin at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. There will be a live auction, awards and dinner at Praters beginning at 7 p.m. Tournament will split into two flights. BASKETBALL: CHS Lady Raiders go 4-1 at home summer camp

Coffee County Central’s Lady Raiders went 4-1 in summer camp play in Manchester Monday and Tuesday, with the lone loss coming by one point to state power Bradley Central. Coffee County picked up 18 points from Chloe Gannon in the post and 9 from incoming freshman Olivia Vinson to smash Franklin 45-18. Gannon added 12 to go with 11 from upcoming junior guard Alivia Reel to beat Huntland 46-23. BASKETBALL: Lady Raiders lose starting PG Ruehling to ACL tear

Coffee County’s Lady Raider basketball team has gone from having to replace one starter from last year’s team to having to replace two – at least for a little while. Upcoming junior Jalie Ruehling, a two-year starter and a mainstay at point guard for the CHS Lady Raider basketball team, tore her ACL during summer workouts for the Lady Raiders. Coffee County Lady Raiders Justus Turner and Keri Munn, who graduated in May, will participate in the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association All-Star games on Thursday at Riverdale High School. The Coffee County Central Lady Raider basketball team hosted dozens of campers last week for coach Joe Pat Cope’s Camp of Champions. The campers were invited back to the gym on Monday to watch the Lady Raiders play Franklin in a summer-camp game and pose for a picture with the Lady Raiders afterward. McWhorter, Costello named new co-athletic directors at Coffee County Central

Coffee County Central High School has two new athletic directors. Longtime teachers and coaches Brad Costello and Brandon McWhorter have been named co-athletic directors for CHS.
