Eury Perez’s two-out single in the eighth inning proved to be the decisive blow as the Braves overcame Matt Wisler’s shaky start and Andrew McKirahan’s ugly relief appearance to claim a 9-8 win over the Marlins on Thursday night at Turner Field. For the first time in 3 months, Thursday provides a busy slate of action as the fall prep season begins to pick up steam. The day begins at 8:00 AM as both CHS golf teams travel to Eagleville to take part in the Murfreesboro Invitational at Champions Run. The CHS girls are looking to repeat as champions in the tournament which tees off at 8:00 AM. Kelby Tomlinson drove in three runs and Matt Duffy delivered a two-run single in the seventh inning to give Madison Bumgarner some cushion as he guided the Giants to a 6-1 win over the Braves on Wednesday night at Turner Field. Hunter Pence’s three-run homer highlighted a four-run, eighth-inning outburst by the San Francisco Giants, who cruised to an 8-3 victory Tuesday night over the Atlanta Braves. Dan McShea Named Interim Athletic Director at Motlow

Preparing to begin his tenth year as an assistant professor of mathematics and head baseball coach at Motlow College, Dan McShea now has additional responsibility after being named the interim athletic director of the College in late July. McShea will fill the position following the resignation of Tori Raby-Gentry, who served as athletic director for 18 months after a year as interim. Ryan Roberts had a big day at Werner Park on Tuesday afternoon, blasting his second home run of the game to lead off the 12th inning and helping propel Nashville to an 8-6 win over Omaha.
