CCMS Volleyball Claims Preseason Tournament Title

A spectacular performance in the service and passing phases of the game powered the Coffee County Middle School varsity volleyball team to a 5 and 0 record and the championship of the inaugural Coffee County CHS Middle School Play Day held at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym.  The Lady Raiders swept through pool play with 3 wins which slotted them into the semifinals of the single elimination tournament.  In the semifinals, Coffee County dismantled Rock Springs 25-16 and 25-2.  In the second set, Elizabeth Proffitt served 17 times in a row without a service error as Rock Springs...

Coffee Middle Soccer Finishes Preseason with Scrimmage Play Day

A Warren County goal in the 29th minute spoiled a perfect play day record for the Coffee County Middle School varsity soccer team on Saturday at CCMS. The Lady Raiders got a goal on their Pioneer rivals in the 19th minute from 6th grader Anna Amado to give the Lady Raiders a lead two-thirds of the way through the contest. A week of practice to correct some problems from last Friday’s scrimmage at Rock Springs was the winning recipe for the Coffee County Middle School football team on Saturday. The Red Raiders defeated Grundy Co Middle and Flintville in 3 sessions of varsity scrimmage action in preparation for Tuesday’s season opener. Red Raider Football Claims a Pair of Scrimmage Wins on Friday

“Thunder and Lightning” came to Grundy County on Friday night in the form of the Red Raider football team. The Coffee County Central High School team competed in their first scrimmage action of the year as the Red Raiders defeated Grundy County and Bledsoe County in the 3 way scrimmage. After creating a fourth-inning eruption that influenced Jose Fernandez’s early exit at Turner Field on Friday night, the Braves backed Julio Teheran with a four-run seventh inning that propelled them to a 6-3 win over the Marlins. Westwood Rockets Open Grid Season with Win at Moore County on Thursday

A pair of Shawn Anderson touchdown runs in the first quarter was all the offense that Westwood needed on Thursday night as they stopped conference rival Moore County 14 to 0 in Lynchburg. Lady Raider Golf Claims Murfreesboro Invitational Tournament Title

Rain, lightning and a scorecard playoff were not enough to deny the Lady Raider golf team from claiming their 2nd straight Murfreesboro Invitational title on Thursday at Champions Run.   Coffee County, which is perfect in match play this season, got a 70 from Savannah Quick along with a career best 79 from Teagan Perry and an 81 from Sophie Vinson to tie Riverdale for first place.  The Lady Raiders were crowned champions after a scorecard playoff of the tournament that was delayed several hours due to lightning in the Eagleville area.  Quick tied Riverdale Reagan Kinnie for low individual score...

Lady Raider Volleyball Sweeps Scrimmages from Cumberland County on Thursday
