CHS Golf Finishes Strong at Lawrence Family Motors/Willowbrook Invitational
Both Raider golf teams brought home Top 4 finishes on Wednesday as part of the 16 team fields at the Lawrence Family Motors/Willowbrook Invitational. The Red Raiders finished with a 321, which was 8 strokes off the lead and earned them a 4th place finish. Cookeville claimed the tournament title at 313 while Walker Valley finished 2nd and Tullahoma came in 3rd. Freshman Austin Farris shot the low score for the Raiders as he carded a 78. Before the CHS student body on Wednesday, the CHS Lady Raider volleyball team dropped a 3 set match to Eagleville. Poor passing plagued the Coffee County as they fell by set scores of 15-25, 7-25 and 17-25. The Lady Raiders continue to struggle at the service line as they committed 9 service errors to go with their 6 aces on the match. Fastpitch Fall League Signups are Saturday
The Coffee County CHS softball team will host softball fall league signups from 10-1 at the Crethan Hansert Hitting Facility at CHS on Saturday. Recovering an onside kick with 21 seconds left in the game lifted the Coffee County Middle School football team to a 24 to 16 Coffee Cup win over Tullahoma on Tuesday. A hat trick from Julia Duncan lifted the Coffee County Middle School to a 7 to 1 win over White County on Tuesday night in conference soccer action. A smothering Lady Rocket defense and a hat trick from Beatris Barrera led Westwood to a 6 to 0 win over St. Andrews – Sewanee on Tuesday in middle school soccer action. Outshooting Central Magnet 16 shots to 9 on Tuesday night was not enough to lift the CHS Lady Raider soccer team to victory as they dropped a 6 to 2 decision in Murfreesboro.
