Westwood Runners Fare Well at Coffee County Meet on Tuesday

The Rocket and Lady Rocket cross country teams posted some good times on Tuesday in the Coffee County Meet held at the site of the former Old Stone Fort golf course.  For the Rockets, Andres Cavalie’s kick came up just short at the finish line in the boys race as he ended up finishing 2nd.  Samuel Workman finished 11th, Corey Walker was 17th, Renalto Ayala finished in 18th and Lukas Workman was 19th.  Westwood finished in 3rd place behind Cannon County and Whitworth-Buchanan. CHS Volleyball Sweeps Tullahoma

Trailing 15 to 11 in the 3rd set, the Coffee County Lady Raider volleyball team rallied back to claim a 25 to 21 set win and a straight set match victory over Tullahoma on Tuesday night.  The Lady Raiders had dominated the match prior to the third set winning the first 2 sets 25-16 and 25-14.  Strong net play saw Coffee County score 20 kills on the match in the Senior Night victory.  Dianna Davis led the team in kills with 6, while Aerial Williams added 5 kills and Maddie Taylor snuck across 3 winners.  Davis also led the...

CCMS Soccer Claims 2nd Straight CTC Conference Title

A 6 to 2 win over South Franklin helped lift the Coffee County Middle School Lady Raider soccer team to their second consecutive CTC regular season title on Tuesday night in Winchester.  Five Lady Raiders found the back of the net in the contest as Coffee County raced out to a 4 to 0 lead at intermission.  First half goals were scored by Jade Arnold, Journey Arnold, Julia Duncan and Jenna Garretson to give the Lady Raiders a commanding lead over the Lady Gators.  Emilee Roberson and Duncan added 2nd half scores to lift the Lady Raider’s conference record...

CCMS Football Falls to North

In a battle of unbeatens of Tuesday night, the North Franklin Gators dropped the CCMS Raider football team 24 to 12 in middle school football action in Winchester. North scored 2 first half touchdowns, and with the successful 2 point conversions, built a 16 to 0 halftime lead. Coming out of the halftime homecoming festivities, the Gators returned the 2nd half kickoff for a touchdown to stake themselves to a 24 to 0 lead. CHS Soccer Falls to Lincoln County

Facing district leading Lincoln County on Tuesday night, the Lady Raider soccer team could only muster 5 shots in falling by a final of 6 to 0 in high school soccer action at Raider Field.  The Lady Falcons put 15 shots on frame in the contest, netting 6.  With the loss, the Lady Raiders district record falls to 1-3-1 in district play.  Coffee County will welcome Franklin County on Thursday night for a 7 PM district...

CHS Lady Raider Golf Claims District Title, Boys Finish 2nd

The Lady Raider golf team claimed their 3rd straight District 8AAA title on Monday with a 29 stroke win over second place Franklin County.   The Lady Raiders shot a 173 on the day led by senior Teagan Perry who shot an 86 to finish 2nd overall.  Savannah Quick was one stroke back at 87 to finish 3rd overall and Sophie Vinson shot a 90 to finish 5th. Westwood Soccer Draws with Community, Claims Regular Season Conference Title

The Lady Rocket soccer team claimed a regular season conference title on Monday with a 1 to 1 draw at Community.  Reyna Flores had a first half goal for Westwood as Abbi Lowery’s 7 saves gave the Lady Rockets a 1 to 0 lead at intermission.  Community evened the score midway through the second half.  Lowery finished the match with 19 saves. CCMS Soccer Drops North on Monday Night
