Carden-Jarrell Field will be the site of the 2nd Coffee Pot football battle this fall as former Tullahoma and Coffee County Central football players will get the opportunity to “strap it on” one more time in the inaugural Battle for the Coffee Pot Alumni Game on Saturday night. Alumni Football USA is sponsoring the full-contact game and the contest will adhere to the high school rules. A pair of second half goals by Caitlin Moore lifted the Coffee County CHS soccer team to a 3 to 0 win over Franklin County on the Lady Raiders home pitch Thursday night. Izzy Huddleston got the scoring started with a goal in the 29 minute to give Coffee County a 1-0 halftime lead. After taking the first set by a score of 25 to 17, the CCMS volleyball team saw Warren County take the next 2 sets to claim the match win in McMinnville on Thursday. The Lady Pioneers eked out a 26 to 24 win in the 2nd set before clinching the match with a 15 to 9 decision in the decisive 3rd set. The Liberty Patriots scored 40 first half points while only having 3 offensive snaps to drop the Westwood Rockets football team 52 to 6 in Thursday’s Homecoming game at Dyer-Bouldin Field. Liberty returned a Westwood fumble on the opening kickoff for a touchdown and also returned 2 interceptions for touchdowns as the Rockets could not get a big play of their own.
