Westwood Basketball Sweeps a Pair at Fayetteville on Thursday

The Westwood Lady Rocket basketball team roared out to a 19 to 0 lead after 1 quarter of play on their way to a 42 to 8 win at Fayetteville on Thursday night. Eleven different Lady Rockets tallied points as Coach Angela Houck emptied her bench. Ashley Starks was the leading scorer for Westwood as she netted 9 points and Karen Medina added 7 with each playing limited minutes in the game. CHS Cross Country Season Comes to a Close

The Coffee County CHS Cross Country season came to a close on Thursday afternoon in the Region 4AAA meet in Smyrna.  The Raider and Lady Raider harriers continued to show improvements in their personal best times but no one qualified for next weekend’s state meet.  The Red Raiders placed 4 runners in the top 50 of the crowded field.   James Lynn was again the high finisher for Coffee County as he finished in a time of 18:02.3 for a 22nd place finish.  Bradley Kishpaugh finished in 39th place at 19:14.7, Andy Rosson was 43rd at 19:36.2, Edgar Marceleno finished...

CCMS 6th Grade Basketball Teams Split with North Franklin on Thursday Night

A series of transition baskets in the 2nd quarter lifted the CCMS Lady Raider 6th grade basketball team to a 24 to 12 win over the Lady Gators of North Franklin on Thursday night. Defensively, the Lady Raiders were able to hold North to 3 points in each quarter with their stifling pressure. Coffee County was led in scoring by Marley Perry who finished with 7 points while Kiya Ferrell added 5 for the Lady Raiders. CCMS Basketball Advances to Finals of Woodbury Scrimmage Tournament

The Coffee County Middle School varsity basketball teams advanced to the tournament finals of the Woodbury Border War preseason tournament on Thursday night with a pair of wins in the semifinals. The Lady Raiders blew open a close game in the 2nd quarter in beating North Elementary of Altamont 55 to 16. Westwood 6th Grade Basketball Team Gets a Win at West on Wednesday

Coming off a heartbreaking loss on Tuesday, the Westwood Rockets 6th grade team traveled to Tullahoma to take on the 6th graders of West Middle School. The Rockets used a 17 point second quarter to drop the Bobcats 26 – 23. Westwood got a pair of 3 pointers in that 2nd quarter rally from Bodey Nugent and Keiton Sherrill to carry them to a seven point halftime lead. Predators Claim Western Conference Lead with 2-1 Win at San Jose

College Street Runners Fare Well at State Cross Country Championships

The College Street Elementary Lady Cougar Cross Country team had a strong showing in the Knoxville Youth Cross Country State Championship on Saturday. Greenlee Woods had the best time for College Street as she finished in 13th place with a time of 6:19. Jorja Waggoner finished at 7:10.2 for a 103rd place finish.
