Westwood and Coffee Middle Golf Teams Fall to Tullahoma

The talented and deep Tullahoma Middle School golf teams each got a pair of wins over Coffee County and Westwood on Thursday in a three team middle school golf match at Lakewood Country Club. In girls’ play, Olivia Lewis shot an 80 and Olivia Howell shot an 81 to lead the Coffee County Middle School team to a 2nd place finish in the meet. Macie Lawrence of Westwood shot a round of 70. The Braves put together a steady offense against Clay Buchholz and salvaged the finale of a four-game series with the Red Sox by pulling out a 5-3 victory at Fenway Park on Thursday night. The win snapped an eight-game losing skid for Atlanta. After Boston scored one in the first, the Braves rallied for three in the second and led for the rest of the night. Max Muncy blasted a three-run homer and Matt Olson clubbed a solo shot and the Sounds cruised to a 7-3 win over the Round Rock Express Thursday night in game one of the four-game series from Dell Diamond. Red Raider Baseball Drops Series Opener at Tullahoma

Seven hits and 3 Coffee County errors resulted in a 10 run 2nd inning by Tullahoma on Tuesday night as the Red Raider baseball team fell 13 to 2 to the Wildcats in Tullahoma. After giving up a single run in the first inning, Coffee County saw the Wildcats send 13 batters to the plate in 2nd inning to effectively seal the Raiders fate.
