Lady Bucks End Regular Season with Sweep

Freshman Kenzie Jo Anderson drove in the winning run with walk-off singles in both games Friday as the Motlow Lady Bucks closed the softball regular season by splitting a four-game series with nationally-ranked Walters State at Lady Bucks Field. The Lady Bucks (26-22, 19-17) battled the visiting Lady Senators, who entered the series ranked No. 13 in the nation, down to the wire in all four games. Bucks to Open Baseball Tournament Sunday

The Motlow Bucks will face Volunteer State on Sunday at noon in the first game of the 2016 TCCAA/Region VII Baseball Tournament at Columbia State Community College in Columbia. The Bucks (18-35, 5-22) completed their regular season with a 7-6 loss to Walters State Friday afternoon in the final game of a three-game series. Walters won Thursday’s opening game 16-4, then won the first game of Friday’s doubleheader 9-5. The Bucks are the No. 10 seed in the tournament, while Volunteer State is the No. 7 seed. Maddie Taylor Advances to Region Tennis Tournament

Maddie Taylor punched her ticket to the Region individual tennis tournament on Friday as she advanced to the finals in singles. Taylor fell in the finals but by virtue of getting a win in the all important semifinals, Taylor will compete in the Region Tournament scheduled for next week in Columbia. Taylor was joined in the semifinals by Ali Shelton who fell in her bid to face off with Taylor in the finals. Lady Raider Softball Finishes 5th in Coffee County Classic

The Coffee County Lady Raider softball team was 1 and 1 in elimination play on Saturday to finish in a 5th place tie in their own Coffee County Classic softball tournament this weekend. The rain and severe weather held off until late Saturday allowing the tournament to get down to the semifinal games before rain and lightning forced the cancellation of the remainder of the tournament. CHS Track Has Another Strong Showing at Tullahoma Meet

The rains stayed away long enough on Saturday for the Coffee County track teams to travel to Tullahoma to compete in the Rudy Hensel Mid-State Championship.  The Lady Raiders came away with a 2nd place team finish while the Red Raiders came in 7th place overall. The Westwood tennis teams traveled to Tullahoma on Friday for their final match of the season. The Lady Rockets got 3 wins in singles play but could not steal a match winner in doubles as they fell 4 to 3. Lauren Perry(4-0), Madison Cox(4-0) and Patricia Barrera(4-2) won their singles matches for Westwood.
