Westwood Basketball Hosts Cascade in Annual Teddy Bear Toss Games

The Westwood Rockets and Lady Rockets may not have collected a victory on the court on Thursday night but they more than made up for that in terms of the Christmas spirit. Cascade visited the Joel Vinson Gym for the annual Teddy Bear toss game where more than 200 stuffed animals were donated. In years past, the stuffed toys collected have been donated to local first responders to use as “comfort toys” for local children involved in a tragic event. Coffee Middle Sweeps West Tullahoma on Thursday Night

The Coffee County Middle School welcomed West Tullahoma to the CCMS gymnasium on Thursday night for a CTC basketball doubleheader.  The Lady Raiders avenged an early season loss beating the Lady Bobcats 40 to 30.  The Red Raiders completed the doubleheader sweep AND season sweep of West with a 33 to 20 win. 2017 Coffee County Football Scheduled Released

Coffee County Central High School athletic director and head football coach, Ryan Sulkowski announced the schedule for Coffee County football for the 2017 season. Coffee County will remain in Class 6A for football and will compete in Region 3 with the 4 large high schools from Murfreesboro; Riverdale, Blackman, Siegel and Oakland. Additionally, Cookeville and Warren County will be in Region 3 with Coffee County. The 2017 schedule will feature 6 region games with those schools, and 4 non-region games. The Coffee County Central High School wrestling team fared well in matches at Smyrna on Tuesday night.  Fielding wrestlers in 8 of the 14 weight classes, Coffee County was unable to get team match wins but did get strong individual performances and several individual wins. Ryan Johansen and Austin Watson each had a goal and an assist, leading the Nashville Predators to a 5-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night. The Coffee County Middle School basketball teams opened their post-Thanksgiving schedule as they welcomed North Franklin to the CCMS gym on Monday night.  The Lady Raiders had to rally after trailing by as many as 5 points in the first half to capture a 43 to 38 win.  The Red Raiders blew a 17 point halftime lead in a 45 to 44 defeat at the hands of the visiting Gators.
