The NHL has announced the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks Round One playoff series will commence on Thursday evening at United Center. Chicago will host the first two contests of the best-of-seven series before the series shifts to Nashville for Games Three and Four at Bridgestone Arena. If necessary, Games Five and Seven will be at United Center and Game Six at Bridgestone Arena; details on those contests would be announced at a later date. After getting washed out on Thursday, the Central High School baseball team opened play in the Rebel Classic on Saturday morning with a doubleheader at Powers Field.  For the 3rd game in a row the Red Raiders scored 10 or more runs.  Coffee County came away with a pair of run rule wins as they stopped Cleveland 11 to 1 and White County 10 to 0. After facing 2 of the toughest teams in the tournament in the Friday opener of the Red Raider Invitational, the Coffee County Middle School soccer team entered Saturday’s play as the 4th seed in the Bronze Cup bracket.  Five hours later, the Raiders emerged with a pair of convincing wins and possession of the Bronze Cup to finish the tournament with a record of 2 and 2. After struggling the first time through the batting order on Saturday against Whitworth-Buchanan, the Coffee County Middle School baseball team needed a spark.  That spark came in the 3rd inning with 4 straight hits, a walk and a hit batter as the Raiders claimed a 3 to 1 lead on their way to a 5 to 2 win in Murfreesboro. The Coffee County Middle School track team held their first meet of the year on Friday at Carden-Jarrell Field as they welcomed Warren County, Harris and East Tullahoma. Despite a wet spring and a pair of early cancellations, the Raider thinclads showed no rust as they swept the meet.
