For the 4th year in a row, the Coffee County CHS Lady Raider Track team will have an athlete compete for the state pentathlon title as Sarah Pearson qualified on Monday at the sectional pentathlon held at Rhea County. Pearson finished 2nd in the sectional out of 30 competitors. This will be her third straight year to advance to the state meet in the pentathlon. The Coffee County tennis teams welcomed Tullahoma to their home court at the Raider Academy on Wednesday.  The two rivals met up to conclude their match from Monday which was suspended due to lightning in the area.  Coffee County ended up with a split with Tullahoma as the girls lost 5 to 2 while the boys won 5 to 0. The Westwood baseball team opened play in the Duck River Valley Conference tournament on Wednesday as they welcomed Moore County to Looney Riddle Field.  The postseason is about limiting your mistakes, getting the clutch hit and moving on.  Westwood checked all 3 of those off their list on Wednesday with a 6 to 2 win. The Coffee County Middle School softball team welcomed South Franklin to CCMS on Wednesday for a make-up doubleheader.  The Lady Raiders had little trouble dispatching the outmatched Lady Trojans.  Coffee County won the first game 18 to 0 before taking the night cap 21 to 0. The Raiders continued to show improvement but their youth and inexperience, especially on defense, cost them a chance at an upset.  Harris ended taking the match by a final score of 3 to 1.
