The Coffee County CHS volleyball team welcomed Columbia to the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym on Thursday looking for a season sweep over the Lady Lions.  A win would also guarantee a regular season district title and a number 1 seed in the district tournament.   For the second match in a row, the Lady Raiders dropped a 5 set match after holding a lead. Westwood Cross Country Closes Out Season with Strong Performance

WMS Cross Country teams closed out their season on Tuesday in Fayetteville at Don Davidson Park.  The Rocket and Lady Rocket harriers ended the year on a high note as they each captured high individual finishes and strong team finishes.  Lady Rocket Patricia Barrera won the girls’ race while Bodey Todd had a 2nd place finish for the Rockets. Ozzie Albies’ leadoff single ignited a two-run fourth inning that held up for starter R.A. Dickey’s 10th win in the Braves’ 3-2 victory over the Nationals on Thursday at SunTrust Park. The Motlow State Lady Bucks captured the first win in school history, then followed that with their second consecutive road shutout victory, raising their record to .500 heading into Friday’s home game rematch against Meridian (MS) Community College. The Motlow Bucks will begin defense of their Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) regular season championship when they travel to Jackson to face Jackson State on Friday, Nov. 10. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., or 20 minutes following the women’s contest. The TCCAA conference opener is just one highlight of Motlow’s 2017-18 men’s basketball schedule. The Westwood soccer team hosted Fayetteville on Wednesday evening for 8th Grade Night.  In a match originally scheduled for September 5th, the Lady Rockets were looking to build on the momentum of Monday’s blowout win over Liberty as they march toward the postseason.  Westwood did exactly that as they captured a 3 to 0 win. Lady Raider soccer team of CCMS traveled to Shelbyville on Wednesday to take on Harris.  The match, originally scheduled for September 11th, served as the final regular season match of the year for Coffee Middle.  The shorthanded Lady Raiders could not muster an offense against the Eaglettes as they fell 2 to 0. CHS Cross Country Meet Cancelled; Raiders Return Home on Tuesday

The Coffee County CHS Cross Country teams were set to visit Normandy on Tuesday for a meet at the notoriously difficult Arrowhead Ranch course.  Storms in the early afternoon, and the threat of slippery conditions and possible bad weather forced the cancellation of the meet.
