Following Friday’s District 8AAA coaches’ meeting, it was confirmed that the Coffee County soccer team won the regular season district title.  Coffee County and Lincoln County tied with the best overall records at 6 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie.  The Lady Raiders earned the district title by virtue of aggregate goals. The Motlow State Lady Bucks will host Gordon State (GA) College for a soccer match on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Shelbyville Central High School in Shelbyville. Admission is $5 per person, with half the admission proceeds to be donated to the Multi-County Cancer Support Network. The Red Raider football team hit the road on Friday night to take on the #1 team in the state, Oakland.  The Patriots, 5 and 0 on the year with wins over Maryville and Blackman, hosted Coffee County for homecoming.  The Patriots forced 5 first half turnovers to build a 41 to 0 halftime lead.  Coffee County fell by a final score of 41 to 9. Facing their toughest competition of the year, the CHS volleyball team captured a runner-up finish of the bronze division in the Middle Tennessee Classic Tournament in Franklin this weekend.
