CHS Soccer Hosts District Semifinal on Tuesday

The Lady Raider soccer team of CHS will open district tournament play on Tuesday night at the Raider Soccer Field. Coffee County will play host to Columbia beginning at 6:30 PM. Columbia defeated Franklin County on Saturday night to advance to Tuesday’s semifinal match-up with the Lady Raiders. Coffee County had a win and a tie with Columbia during the regular season. CHS Volleyball Opens Region Tournament Tonight

On Tuesday night Coffee County Volleyball team travels to Murfreesboro for the Region 4AAA volleyball tournament. As champions of District 8AAA, the Lady Raiders will square off against Blackman in a semifinal match-up beginning at 6 PM. The host Siegel Lady Stars will take on Lincoln County in the other semifinal match-up at 4:30 PM. A win by Coffee County would advance them to Tuesday night’s finals against the winner of Siegel and Lincoln County. It would also guarantee them a berth in the TSSAA sectional later this week. Jacob Rutledge Claims State Cross Country Title for CCMS

Jacob Rutledge of the Coffee County Middle School cross country team claimed the state title on Saturday in the TMSSA State Cross Country Championship in Clarksville.  Rutledge, who finished 2nd at the middle sectional championship 2 weeks ago, sprinted past Joe Neglia of John Sevier MS to capture the crown with a time of 11:37.02 over the 2 mile course. Coffee County Football Upends Lebanon

The Coffee County football team opened up a 3 week stretch of home games on Friday night as they played host to Lebanon in a non-region contest.  The Red Raiders got a huge touchdown on the last play of the first half and a huge stop in the final drive of the game to capture the 19 to 14 win over Lebanon. Coffee County Youth Bass Club Shines at Old Hickory Tournament

Facing the narrow head waters of Old Hickory Lake on Saturday, Hunter Sanders and Blake Mangrum of the Coffee County Youth Bass Club captured a 4th place finish in the 2nd region fishing tournament of the season.  Sanders and Mangrum were one of 5 Coffee County teams to land fish in the South Central Tennessee Region BASS Nation High School as they competed in a field of 68 boats.  Sanders and Mangrum landed 4 fish weighing in at 5.86 pounds. Temple Baptist Christian Volleyball Team Captures 2nd Place Finish in Alabama Tournament

The Temple Baptist Christian School Lady Eagles volleyball team captured a 2nd place finish on Saturday in the Madison Baptist Academy volleyball tournament in Madison, Alabama.  Playing 7 matches in 2 days, the Lady Eagles compiled a 6 and 2 record with both losses coming to eventual tournament champion Clay’s Mill Christian from Kentucky.   Temple got wins over Madison Baptist, AL, Victory of Shelbyville and Walker Springs Baptist of Kentucky in pool play. This Saturday, October 7, the Manchester Red Raiders traveled to Fayetteville to face the Tigers. The Peewee team started up first and was defeated 32-13. Kaleb Morris led the team with a 50 yard touchdown with help of Braxon Wilder with a 30 yard touchdown. In Division 1, at the start of the first half Jacoba Fells got a 40 yard touchdown. Frustrated Titans Lose 16-10 to Dolphins

The Titans couldn’t get in sync on offense on Sunday, and they paid for it. The Titans lost 16-10 to the Miami Dolphins here at Hard Rock Stadium. The loss dropped the Titans to 2-3 on the season. Matt Cassel started at quarterback for the Titans, in place of Marcus Mariota. Mariota, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Texans, was among the team’s inactives.
