Alontae Taylor Selected for East-West All-Star Game
Coffee County senior football player Alontae Taylor has been selected to participate in the 2017 Toyota East-West All-Star game. The game features the best high school seniors from across Tennessee competing against one another. The game will take place in Clarksville at Austin Peay State University’s Fortera Stadium on Saturday, December 8, 2017. Taylor was selected to the East squad as a wide receiver. Lady Bucks Win Home Opener in Near-Record Fashion
The Motlow Lady Bucks scored the second most points in program history, and won by the second largest margin ever, when they hosted and beat the Martin Methodist College JV 111-49 at Copperweld Arena Wednesday night. Motlow then dropped a heartbreaking 77-76 decision to TCCAA rival Volunteer State on Saturday in Gallatin. The Lady Bucks (1-3, 0-3) will now prepare to travel during the holiday weekend. CHS Basketball Sweeps Grundy County in Home Opener
The CHS basketball teams hosted old rival Grundy County on Monday night in their first home game of the season. Once again using a strong defensive performance, each Raider team got victories in front of a pre-holiday crowd at the Joe Frank Patch Gym. The Coffee County Middle School basketball team welcomed conference rival East Tullahoma to the CCMS Gym on Monday night. In their final game before Thanksgiving, the Lady Raiders and Red Raiders swept the visiting Panthers. A young Temple Baptist Christian School basketball team traveled to Cleveland over the weekend to take part in the Shenandoah Baptist Academy tournament. The Eagles were winless in 4 contests as they took on their toughest competition of the season. The temple varsity squad played 2 games on Friday night and 2 games on Saturday morning.
