Lady Raider Softball Falls in 9 Innings

The Coffee County Lady Raider softball team hosted Milford, Ohio on Tuesday afternoon at Terry Floyd Field.  Eight Lady Raider errors led to 8 unearned runs as Coffee County fell in the 9 inning game.  Coffee County fell by a final score of 10 to 8. The visiting Lady Eagles scored a pair of runs in the top of the 7th inning to force extra innings.  After a scoreless 8th inning, Milford pushed across a pair of runs in the 9th to capture the win. Preds Beat Wild in Shootout

The Predators thought they had won once. Turns out they just needed a few more minutes. Pekka Rinne stopped all three skaters he faced in the shootout as Nashville defeated the Minnesota Wild by a 2-1 final on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena. The result snaps Nashville’s three-game winless skid and sees them clinch home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. In order to get away from Wednesday’s rainy forecast, the Coffee County Red Raider baseball team headed to Lawrenceburg on Monday night.  In a game originally scheduled for Wednesday night, Coffee County took on Lawrence County in district baseball action.  Coffee County held the Wildcats to 2 hits through 6 innings as they captured the 5 to 1 win. The Coffee County Lady Raider softball team hosted Warren County on Monday night.  Looking to avenge a loss to the Lady Pioneers on March 13th, Coffee County welcomed their non-district rivals to Terry Floyd Field.  The Lady Raiders could not get the tying run in from 3rd base in the 7th inning as they fell 5 to 4. Westwood Baseball Loses Slugfest to Cascade

The Westwood baseball team hosted conference rival Cascade on Monday.  All season long, the Rockets have forced the opposition to go deep in their pitching staff to fashion a 7 and 1 record.  On Monday, Cascade turned the tables as they exhausted the Westwood pitching staff and took a 19 to 13 win over the Rockets. CHS Baseball Gets Walk-Off Win on Saturday

The Red Raider baseball team of Coffee County CHS needed extra innings to get their 5th straight win on Saturday as they dropped the visiting Cougars of Middle Tennessee Christian.  Coffee County got a walk-off single in the bottom of the 8th inning from A.J. Rollman to nab the win.  The Red Raiders improved to 6 and 1 on the year with the 3 to 2 win.
