CHS Soccer Honors Breyer Taylor

Former Coffee County CHS soccer player Breyer Taylor was honored last week with the retirement of his number at a ceremony prior to the Red Raiders game with Columbia.  Taylor, who graduated in 2017, is the all-time leading scorer for Red Raider soccer as he scored 55 goals breaking the record previously held by Ricky Ramirez.  Taylor also owns the record for most goals in a season, 20, during his sophomore season. Sounds Edge Storm Chasers 4-3 to Salvage Series Finale

The Nashville Sounds wrapped up their six-game road trip with a 4-3 victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers Monday afternoon. Sounds starter Daniel Gossett earned his first win of the season with a quality start while three Sounds batters recorded multi-hit games. The Sounds drew first blood by plating a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. Josh Phegley and Nick Martini recorded back-to-back run-scoring doubles to spot Gossett a 2-0 lead. For the 4th year in a row, the Westwood Middle School soccer team claimed the Central Tennessee Soccer Conference title.  The Rockets nailed down the iconic feat with a thrilling 1 to 0 decision over St. Andrews-Sewanee on Saturday at Dyer-Bouldin Field in a match that was decided by a shootout. CHS Wrestler Alicean Stottlemyer Named to All-State Team

After a record breaking senior season, the awards continue for Coffee County senior wrestler Alicean Stottlemyer.  The senior learned on Wednesday that she was selected for the 4 member team Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State team for her weight class.  Stottlemyer, who finished in 4th place at the TSSAA state meet in February, is the only female wrestler in Coffee County history to advance to the state meet.  Stottlemyer is also the only Coffee County wrestler to medal at the state meet and the first All-State recipient.  Alicean was joined on the All-State team by Gabrielle Neal of Cane...

CHS Bass Team Captures Region Title

Garrett Davis and Isaiah Owens of the Coffee County Youth Bass Club captured the South Central Tennessee Region points championship after Saturday’s Region Championship tournament on Old Hickory Lake.  In the first year of region competition, the Coffee County Youth Bass Club duo edged a team from Mt. Juliet by 1 point for the win.  With the region title, the duo earned a $1000 scholarship and an automatic berth in the Bass Nation High School Championship to be held in August on Kentucky Lake.
