The strikeout bug bit the Nashville Sounds Saturday night as they fell to the Oklahoma City Dodgers 4-2. Sounds batters struck out 16 times to set a new season-high. The Sounds were unable to muster anything offensively against Oklahoma City starter Dennis Santana. The pitching prospect, making his Triple-A debut, mowed through the Sounds lineup, striking out 11 batters in six innings to match a career-high. Five CCMS Track Athletes to Vie for State Titles on Saturday
Five members of the Coffee County Middle School track team will compete on Saturday in the TMSAA state meet in Clarksville. The state meet will take place at Forterra Stadium on the campus of Austin Peay State University. Ethan Welch is the first competitor as he is scheduled for the high jump and the discus at 9 AM. Jayda Wright and Marley Perry will both compete in the discus beginning at 10:15 AM while Perry will throw the shot at 11:45. The running events will take place in the afternoon. CHS Softball to Play for State Title Bid on Friday Night
After winning 8 of their last 9 games, the Coffee County Lady Raider softball team is one win away from a state title berth. The Lady Raiders will play host to Walker Valley at Terry Floyd Field tonight at 7 PM. This is the 3rd meeting all time between the two programs. Coffee County has won all 3 of the previous meetings, including the last 2 in the postseason in 2012 and 2013. Nashville SC Gets Win in U.S. Open Cup Debut
Nashville SC survived and advanced on Wednesday night in its U.S. Open Cup debut with a 2-0 win over NPSL side Inter Nashville FC as Tucker Hume netted a brace for the winners. 90 in a Nutshell Nashville SC was on the front foot most of the night and it paid off early. CHS Softball Claims Region Title
Hosting Lincoln County at Terry Floyd Field on Wednesday, the Coffee County Lady Raiders were looking for the first region title since 2014. Facing off against their District 8AAA rival Lady Falcons, Coffee County hosted an overflow crowd in the Region 4AAA title game. Once again, it was a late rally that lifted Coffee County to the 4 to 3 win. Lauren Tomberlin Signs to Play College Softball at Motlow
Coffee County senior Lauren Tomberlin signed to continue her softball career at Motlow State Community College in a ceremony on Wednesday at CHS. Surrounded by family, coaches, teammates and friends, Tomberlin inked her letter of intent to play softball for the Lady Bucks. Tomberlin becomes the third Lady Raider softball player this year to sign to play at the collegiate level.
