Predators scheduled to get back to work Wednesday
After not playing since Dec. 17th due to a league-wide COVID-19 shutdown, the Nashville Predators are expected to return to the ice on Wednesday, Dec. 29 and play 3 hockey games in 4 days. The Preds will be at the Capitals for a 6 p.m face-off on the 29th, followed by the Blue Jackets at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 and a 1 pm face-off with the Blackhawks on New Year’s Day. Lady Raiders off to Charleston for post-Christmas tournament
Most area sports are down for another week for the Christmas break – but not the Coffee County Central Lady Raider basketball team. The Lady Raiders are flying to Charleston, S.C. in search of some of the area’s toughest competition in the Ashley River Girls Tournament. The Lady Raiders will play 3 games, tournament style. Bass club wants your live Christmas tree
Don’t know what to do with that real Christmas tree you used to decorate your home this year? The Coffee County Youth Bass Club and the Tennessee Bass Nation ask that you donate those trees (decorations removed) to this year’s Christmas for the Fishes. These trees will be recycled into an area lake for fish habitat. Trees collected by Coffee County Bass Club will mostly go to Normandy Lake. Lady Raiders spank Boaz to complete Ft. Payne sweep
Coffee County had no trouble waking up early Wednesday. The CHS Lady Raiders hit the floor at 10 a.m. at Ft. Payne High School in Alabama and before opponent Boaz High School could roll out of the bed the Lady Raiders had a 37-7 halftime lead and cruised to a 71-23 win. The Tennessee Titans host the San Francisco 49ers this week in a primetime showdown on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. CST on Dec. 23. One of the greatest Coffee County Central Red Raiders to ever play at the school and recent University of Tennessee graduate, Alontae Taylor, will be at Al White Ford Lincoln for a two-hour meet-and-greet event on Wednesday, Dec. 22. One day after barely having enough players to put a team on the floor due to illness, the Lady Raiders got reinforcements sent down to Ft. Payne, Alabama and beat the host school 62-40 in the 21st Annual Wills Valley Shoot Out.
