CHS Golf Grabs Pair of Wins in Fayetteville

The Coffee County CHS golfers traveled to Fayetteville on Thursday to take on Lincoln County and Marshall County.  Facing off against a pair of district rivals in a 9 hole match, the Raiders grabbed 2 more wins.  The Raiders shot a 162 to win by 16 strokes over the home standing Falcons.  Marshall County shot a 203. The Nashville Sounds got offensive Thursday night to outlast the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 18-9 at Security Service Field. The win extended Nashville’s season-best winning streak to 10 games, which is the second longest in the franchise’s Pacific Coast League era. Big innings were plentiful as each team had at least two innings in which they scored at least three runs. CCMS Soccer Hosts Fund Raising Play Day

The Coffee County Middle School soccer team will be hosting their 14th Annual “Kickin’ Cancer Soccer Play Day Scrimmage on Saturday at CCMS.  The Lady Raiders will welcome varsity and JV teams from 6 different middle Tennessee counties for the daylong event.  Games are set to get underway at 9 AM and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local cancer charity.  As an added bonus, the Lady Raiders will don pink jerseys and play with a pink ball. The Coffee County Middle School football team opened the 2018 season at home on Tuesday night.  In a game you heard here on Thunder Radio as part of the First National Bank Hometown Sports Series, the Red Raiders played host to Tullahoma in the annual Coffee Cup Game.  Five turnovers cost the Raiders a chance at the upset as they fell 22 to 6 to the Wildcats.
