Westwood Football Falls to Forrest
The Westwood football team welcomed Forrest to Dyer-Bouldin Field. Facing the always tough Rockets from Chapel Hill, the home standing Rockets went toe-to toe with the visitors before falling 22 to 16. Sounds Slug Their Way to Series Finale Victory
The Nashville Sounds’ batters hit the ball high while starting pitcher Eric Jokisch kept it low en route to a 4-2 win over the Round Rock Express. The Sounds belted three solo home runs within the first two innings while Jokish induced 11 ground outs on the night. Jokisch was economical on the mound as he needed just 72 pitches, 55 of which were strikes, to get through six innings. Titans, WR Rishard Matthews Agree to Contract Extension
The Titans have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with veteran receiver Rishard Matthews. Matthews, heading into his seventh NFL season, now has a contract that runs through the 2019 season. Matthews initially signed with the Titans prior to the 2016 season, and he’s played in 30 games over the past two seasons. The Coffee County golf team headed to Winchester on Tuesday for a 9 hole match at Bear Trace. Taking on Franklin County, the Red Raider senior golfers lifted Coffee County to the 161 to 190 win.
