The Motlow State Community College women’s soccer team took another step towards the first TCCAA/Region VII regular season championship with a dominating 5-0 victory over Dyersburg State Saturday in Dyersburg. Motlow (3-0, 7-2-2) has now won four consecutive games and has not lost in its previous seven contests. A sluggish start gave way to a strong comeback as the Temple Baptist Christian School volleyball team defeated Victory Baptist Academy of Shelbyville on Monday night at the E.C. After beating the pre-tournament favorite Clays Mill in pool play, the Temple Baptist volleyball advanced to Saturday’s tournament finals against the ladies from Kentucky.  In the finals, Clays Mill rallied to beat the Lady Eagles twice and send Temple back home as the 2nd place team in the Madison Baptist Academy Tournament in Madison, Alabama. The cross country teams from Coffee County Middle School and Coffee County Central High School traveled to Sewanee on Friday for a meet at St. Andrew’s.  Coffee County athletes captured race wins in 3 of the 4 races.  The middle school boys team got a 2nd place team finish while the high school boys team won their division and the high school girls came in 2nd place. The Coffee County Middle School soccer came to a close on Friday as they fell in the opening round of the CTC conference tournament.  The Lady Raiders dropped a 7 to 2 decision to North Franklin in Winchester to end their season.
