Coffee Middle 6th Grade Basketball Teams Sweep North Franklin

The Coffee County Middle School 6th Grade basketball hit the road on Monday night for a doubleheader at North Franklin.  The Lady Raiders raced to a 33 to 17 win.  The Red Raiders fought their way to a 40 to 17 win. The Red Raiders raced out to an 18 to 3 lead in the first half.  Coffee County was led in scoring by Courtland Farrar who had 13 points.  Evan Kirby added 10 points. Three Westwood Players Honored with All Conference Award

Three members of the 2018 Westwood Rocket football team were honored on Monday night at the Duck River Valley Conference championship game in Fayetteville.  Named to the All-Conference team from Westwood were 7th grader Izick Sierra along with 8th graders Connor Smith and Konor Heaton. Predators Hang On to defeat Wild, Get Third Straight Win

Filip Forsberg scored his third goal in two games for the Nashville Predators in a 4-2 win against the Minnesota Wild at Bridgestone Arena on Monday. The Predators (5-1-0) have won three consecutive games and went 3-1-0 on their four-game home stand. After Pekka Rinne made the save on Nino Niederreiter on a breakaway with 2:41 remaining, Nashville killed a tripping penalty against Miikka Salomaki with 2:17 left while leading 3-2. The Red Raider football team traveled to Murfreesboro on Friday night to take on Riverdale.  Facing their 7th playoff eligible team in their 8th game of the year, the Red Raiders got  more production out of their offense but still came up short against the talented Warriors.  Coffee County fell by a final score of 48 to 0. Temple Volleyball Has Perfect Weekend to Win Kentucky Tournament

The Temple Baptist Christian School volleyball team roared through the prestigious Landmark Christian Academy tournament in Louisville, KY on Saturday to capture the tournament championship.  The Lady Eagles finished pool play of Friday with a 4 and 0 record.  As the top seed in Saturday’s tournament, Temple finished out a perfect weekend with a 3 set win in the finals. Division 2 MYFL Raiders Qualify for Championship Game

The Division 1 and Division 2 teams from the Manchester Youth Football League were in action on Saturday in the Southern Middle Tennessee Youth Football Association playoffs at Carden-Jarrell Field.  In the season’s semifinals, the Division 2 Raiders punched their ticket for next Saturday’s championship.  The 8 and 9 year old team defeated Marshall County Elite 21 to 0.  The Division 1 Raiders fell in the day’s opening game against Fayetteville 12 to 0. Cross Country Teams Race in Midstate Championship

The Coffee County CHS cross country team traveled to Dickson on Saturday for the Mid State Cross Country Association Championship.  Running against a field representing 47 different high schools, the Raider and Lady Raider runners ran in their largest event of the year.  The Red Raiders came out with a 19th place finish in AAA while the Lady Raiders had only 3 runners compete as they were not eligible for the team standings.
