Coffee County Cross Country Teams Season Comes to Close at Region Meet

Coffee County Central High School cross country teams traveled to Lebanon on Thursday to compete in the Region 4 cross country championships.  Running the 3.2 mile course at Cedars of Lebanon, the Raider thinclads faced their biggest field of the season.  In spite of several personal best times, no Raider runners qualified for the state cross country meet. Westwood Basketball Teams Split at Moore County

The Rockets and Lady Rockets basketball teams of Westwood Middle School traveled to Lynchburg on Thursday night.  Playing their 3rd straight conference road game to open the season, Westwood managed a split with the Blue Raiders of Moore County.  The Lady Rockets rallied for a 34 to 31 win while the Rockets fell 42 to 18. Coffee Middle 6th Grade Basketball Teams Split with Warren County

The Coffee County Middle School 6th grade basketball teams welcomed Warren County to the CCMS gym on Thursday.  The Lady Raiders roared to a 45 to 10 win over the Lady Pioneers.  The Red Raiders fell 43 to 14. Kyle Turris scored with 1:25 remaining in overtime to give the Nashville Predators a 4-3 win against the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Thursday. Viktor Arvidsson and Filip Forsberg scored, and Juuse Saros made 33 saves for the Predators (8-2-0). Nico Hischier scored two goals, Kyle Palmieri had three assists, and Keith Kinkaid made 32 saves for the Devils (4-2-1). The Coffee County Central High School athletic department has partnered with Jiffy Burger restaurant to acknowledge the hard work and dedication that our student-athletes put into their sports. The 53rd Annual Semmes-McKenzie Lions Bowl freshmen football game will be played on Tuesday October 30th, 2018 at Wilkins Stadium in Tullahoma. This will feature four of the top freshmen football teams in the mid-state area. The first game will start at 6:00 pm when the Murfreesboro Oakland Patriots face off against the Shelbyville Golden Eagles.
