The Lady Raider basketball team welcomed Grundy County to the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym on Thursday night for a scrimmage. The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 14 to 2 lead in the 1st quarter and coasted home for the win. Coffee County won by a final score of 62 to 29. The Temple Baptist Christian School basketball team opened their season on Thursday night in Cleveland, Tennessee at the Shenandoah Baptist Academy tournament. A furious 4th quarter rally was not enough to get the win. The Eagles fell 46 to 36 to Calvery out of Kingston , TN. Katie Rutledge Signs Softball Scholarship
Coffee County’s Katie Rutledge signed a scholarship on Wednesday at CHS to continue her softball career at the college level with Blue Mountain College. The senior Lady Raider softball player has been one of the most decorated athletes for the Lady Raider program in the last 4 years. Rutledge, a pitcher and outfielder, will join the Mississippi college next fall. The Motlow State Lady Bucks ended their 2018 soccer season with an 8-0 loss to the nation’s sixth-ranked team, Lewis & Clark Community College, in the semifinals of the NJCAA Central District Tournament Thursday in Godfrey, Illinois. The Coffee County Middle School basketball teams hit the road to Rutherford County on Tuesday night. Both Raider teams squared off against Oakland in the Rockvale tournament. The Coffee County Claybusters opened the 2018-2019 season with a bang on Saturday. The Claybusters teams captured wins in all 3 classes in which they competed. The Coffee County Central High School athletic department has announced the sale of basketball season passes. Season passes are $40 per ticket and will get you into every Coffee County CHS regular season home game this season. The season pass will get you a discount of one game and will not be good for the Hall of Champions games(November 16th and 17th), the Raider Christmas Tournament(December 20th thru 22nd) or any postseason games.
