Coffee Middle Basketball Sweeps Harris on Thursday Night

The Coffee County Middle School basketball teams hosted conference rival Harris on Thursday night.  In a pair of games you heard here Thunder Radio, Coffee Middle used strong first halves to capture the conference sweep.   The Lady Raiders won 38 to 24 while the  Raiders won by a score of 40 to 34. Coffee County Elementary Basketball Finals are Set

The Coffee County Elementary Basketball League played the boys’ semifinal round of their postseason tournament on Thursday night.  This pair of boys’ semifinal games set up the boys’ championship and consolation match ups which will be held on Saturday. In the first semifinal, Deerfield used a big 2nd half to pull away for North Coffee for the 36 to 21 win.  With the Bucks leading 16 to 15 at half, Deerfield outscored the Chargers 10 to 1 in the 3rd quarter to take the win.  Landon Abellana was the leading scorer for Deerfield with 24 points.  Jase Cashion added...

Temple Basketball Gets Doubleheader Sweep

The Temple Baptist Christian School basketball team welcomed the Shenandoah Baptist Academy to the E.C Bailey Gym on Thursday night.  Playing host to the visitors from Cleveland, Tennessee, the Eagles were looking to close out the 2018 portion of the season with a win. The JV Eagles won the JV game 37 to 19.  The varsity ground out a 56 to 51 win. Westwood Football Holds Awards Night, Presents Brian Gregory Award

The Westwood football team held their annual awards banquet on Thursday night.  Annually, the most prestigious football award Westwood has given since 1985 is the Brian Gregory Award.  Brian was a former Westwood, and Manchester Central, football player who died in a tragic farming accident while in high school. Freshman Red Raiders Drop Double Overtime Game

The Coffee County CHS freshman boys’ basketball team was in action on Thursday night in Fayetteville.  Taking on the Lincoln County Ninth Grade Academy, the Raiders battled to the end before falling in overtime.  Coffee County lost by a final score of 66 to 58 in double overtime. The freshmen were led in scoring by Connor Shemwell who had 16 points.  Phineas Rollman added 12 points and Rueben Alvarez chipped in 10 points for Coffee County. Predators Recover to Defeat Canucks on Sissons Goal in OT

Colton Sissons scored 3:05 into overtime to give the Nashville Predators a 4-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday. Sissons cut to the net and beat goaltender Anders Nilsson with a redirection of Nick Bonino’s pass to the top of the crease. The Predators (21-10-1) have won two games in a row after losing two straight. They have the best record in the Western Conference. CHS Wrestling Defeats Lawrence County; Claims Lead in District

The Coffee County CHS wrestlers made the long trip to Lawrenceburg on Tuesday night.  After capturing a victory over Lawrence County, the Raider grapplers came home with the lead in the district.  Coffee County also dropped a non-district match to Huntsville High in the tri-match. Against Lawrence County, Coffee County got 4 forfeits, 3 pin falls and a technical fall to beat the Wildcats 47 to 36.  The Red Raiders got pins from Brett Francis(at 126 pounds), Reynaldo Reyes(182) and Christopher Speagle(220).  Gabriel Westbrooke(113), Jesse Smith(145), Devin Judge(152) and Dakota Chalker(160) all won via forfeit. Motlow Bucks Raise Winning Streak to Five, Take Sole Possession of TCCAA Lead

The Motlow Bucks outscored Chattanooga State 15-4 in the second overtime to capture a 100-89 decision Saturday afternoon in Chattanooga. Motlow began the weekend with a 77-72 victory over Cleveland State Friday night in Cleveland. The Bucks (5-0, 8-5) have now won five consecutive games and are in sole possession of first place in the TCCAA conference after their road sweep over the two TCCAA opponents.
