Coffee County Swimmers Open State Meet on Friday
Four members of the Coffee County CHS swim team will open up competition in the Tennessee Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association state meet on Friday in Nashville. Senior Jack Beachboard, who qualified for multiple events, will compete in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 breaststroke. Junior Kaylee Williams qualified for 4 events but will compete in the maximum 2 events. Williams will swim in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 breaststroke. Members of the Coffee County Red Raider wrestling team open up competition in the Region V Individual wrestling tournament on Friday at Warren County High School. First and second round matchups are set to begin at 5:30 PM on Friday with the tournament set to conclude on Saturday. Johansen goal lifts Predators in OT
Ryan Johansen scored 43 seconds into overtime to give the Nashville Predators a 3-2 win against the Dallas Stars at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday. Viktor Arvidsson passed the puck to Johansen, who beat Stars goalie Anton Khudobin from the slot for his 10th goal. Dallas’ five-game winning streak ended. Allie Amado Signs Soccer Scholarship to Bryan College
“I think I ended up where I am supposed to be” said Coffee County CHS senior Allie Amado on Wednesday as she signed her letter of intent to play college soccer at Bryan College. Andrew Mahaffey Signs Football Scholarship to Centre College
Multisport Coffee County CHS athlete Andrew Mahaffey accepted a football scholarship on Wednesday at the CHS library. Mahaffey has accepted an offer to attend Centre College in Danville, KY to play football for the NCAA Division III Colonels. High School Basketball Regular Season Winds Up on Thursday Night
Six of the 7 schools in District 8AAA will square off to complete the regular season on Thursday night. Six of the 7 boys’ seeds are still up for grabs while 5 of the 7 girls’ seeds remain undetermined. Filip Forsberg scored on the power play, and Roman Josi notched three points as the Nashville Predators defeated the Arizona Coyotes, 5-2, on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena.
