Three Coffee County Basketball Players Named to All-Region Teams

Three members of the Coffee County basketball teams were named to the Region 4AAA All-Tournament teams on Wednesday and Thursday night.  Senior Abby Morgan and sophomore Bella Vinson were selected for the girls’ team by the coaches in the region tournament.   Senior Darius Rozier was selected for the boys’ all-region tournament team. Jack Beachboard Named Academic All-American

Both in and out of the swimming pool, Jack Beachboard continues to claim awards.  The Coffee County Central High School senior was recognized on Tuesday as an All-Region swimmer for Middle Tennessee and as an Academic All-American. Beachboard, the most decorated swimmer in Coffee County swim team history, competed in his 4th straight state meet earlier this month.  Beachboard also qualified for the Academic Honors due to his overall GPA.  To qualify for the Academic All-American award, you must:  Have a minimum GPA of 3.750 on a 4 point scale, or 93.7500% of the grade scale your school uses...

Manchester Makos Swim Team Posts Strong Showing at Southeastern Championship

Story provided by Tera Williams This past weekend, February 22-24, the Manchester Makos swim team had 10 members that qualified to swim in the Southeastern Short Course Championships. The championship meet hosts teams from many states including Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. In order to swim at this level, swimmers must have qualifying times in the event. The Makos, led by their coaches Shawn Daniels, Rebekah Buchanan, Becky Behrendorff, and Cindy Weber, placed 19th out of 50 teams. The Coffee County Middle School baseball team traveled to Sparta on Wednesday evening for the 2nd game of their season opening conference series.  In a rematch from Tuesday night, it was another strong pitching performance by the Red Raider pitching staff that made the difference in the game.  Coffee Middle held White County to 3 hits in a 3 to 1 win.
