Preds Fall in Shootout to Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins moved into a tie for second place in the Metropolitan Division with a 2-1 shootout win against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday. Sidney Crosby scored the only goal in the shootout after Ryan Ellis tied the game 1-1 for the Predators at 16:59 of the third period with a shot from the right face-off circle. Bryan Rust scored, and Matt Murray made 28 saves for the Penguins (40-24-11), who are tied with the New York Islanders, three points behind the Washington Capitals for first place. Westwood Soccer Loses at Tullahoma on Wednesday

The Westwood soccer team traveled to Tullahoma on Wednesday night to take on the Wildcats.  For the second game in a row, the Rockets had trouble sustaining their offensive attack through the middle of the field against the Cats.  Westwood fell by a final score of 3 to 1. Tullahoma got a pair of first half goals to race out to a 2 to 0 lead at intermission.  The Wildcats pushed that lead to 3 to 0 before Ian Weldon got Westwood on the scoreboard.  Weldon scored in the 54th minute for the Rockets. The Coffee County CHS baseball team traveled to Fayetteville on Wednesday for the 2nd game in the district series with Lincoln County.  Coming off a disappointing loss on Tuesday, the Red Raiders fell behind early to the Falcons.  Coffee County ended up falling by a final score of 9 to 1. Coffee County CHS Football Coach Ryan Sulkowski Resigns to Take Job in North Carloina

The Coffee County CHS baseball team welcomed Lincoln County to Powers Field on Tuesday to begin a 2 game district series.  In a game you heard here on Thunder Radio, Coffee County struggled with walks, hit batsmen and errors as they dropped the 8 to 2 decision.
