Coffee County CHS Softball Teams Powers to Top 5 Finish in Alabama Tournament
The Coffee County CHS Power Company……better known as the Lady Raider softball team, closed out play in the Bob Jones Invitational on Saturday advancing to the quarterfinal round. The Lady Raiders hammered 7 home runs in their 6 game, 3 day trip to Madison, Alabama as they finished with a record of 5 and 1 on the weekend. Coffee County CHS Baseball Splits Saturday Games in Rebel Classic
The Coffee County Central High School baseball team closed out play on Saturday in the Rebel Classic with a record of 1 and 1. Playing a pair of games at home, Coffee County opened the day with a 7 to 0 thrashing of Notre Dame. The Red Raiders closed out the day with a 4 to 0 loss to Station Camp. In Saturday’s opening game, Coffee County plated 5 runs in the first inning and got a complete game shut from pitcher Zack Milan to earn the win. Coffee County CHS Track Team Scores Well at Saturday Meet
The Coffee County Central High School track team was in action on Saturday in Chattanooga. Taking part in the Chattanooga Christian FastBreak Invitational, the Raider runners faced the biggest and most talented field of the season thus far. The Lady Raiders captured 19 team points and the Red Raiders grabbed 17 points as each team finished in 12th place out of 25 teams competing. CCMS Track Sweeps Titles in First Home Meet
In their first home meet of the year on Thursday, the Coffee County Middle School track teams outdistanced the visiting squads from East Tullahoma, Warren County and North Franklin. The Lady Raider team came in first place in the girls’ meet with a score of 62.5 points as they outdistanced 2nd place East who finished with 46 points. The Westwood Rockets soccer team closed out play in the Red Raider Invitational on Saturday going 1 and 2 on the day. After a win on Friday night, Westwood split the 4 games in the 2 day tournament. The Central Division crown is staying in Tennessee. Dante Fabbro’s first started the comeback, and Viktor Arvidsson’s record-breaking 34th was the winner as the Nashville Predators defeated the Chicago Blackhawks by a 5-2 final to clinch the Central Division and home-ice advantage through at least the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
