Westwood Baseball Falls to Fayetteville

The Westwood Middle School baseball team traveled to Fayetteville on Thursday night.  The Rockets managed to grab an early lead but it was not enough.  The Tigers rallied to drop Westwood by a final score of 14 to 1. Trevor Jesse led off the game for the Rockets with a walk and came around to score on Brayden Trail’s bases loaded walk.  Fayetteville rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st and added 4 more in the 2nd to race to the win.  Trail ended the game with 3 walks in 3 plate appearances for Westwood. The Coffee County CHS softball team welcomed region rival Siegel to Terry Floyd Field on Wednesday.   In a game you heard here on Thunder Radio, the Siegel offense kept the pressure on the Lady Raider defense as they put runners on base in 6 of the 7 innings.  Coffee County failed to capitalize on their opportunities as they fell by a final score of 6 to 3. Coffee County CHS Baseball Drops Pitchers Duel at Shelbyville

The Coffee County CHS baseball team headed to Horse Country on Wednesday night for the 2nd game in the 2 game series with Shelbyville.  In an old fashioned pitcher’s duel, the Red Raiders left 8 runners on base as they failed to score a run.  Shelbyville captured the 1 to 0 win. Westwood Softball Drops Cascade on Wednesday

The Westwood Middle School softball welcomed Cascade to Lady Rocket Field on Wednesday.  On a beautiful, sun-splashed afternoon, the Lady Rockets completed the season sweep over the Champions.  Westwood won by a final score of 6 to 1. Westwood Tennis Sweeps Warren County

The Westwood Middle School tennis team welcomed Warren County to Fred Deadman Park on Wednesday.  The Lady Rockets swept the doubles matches to grab a 5 to 2 match win.  The Rockets got 3 singles wins to fight to a 4 to 3 win. The Rockets got singles wins from Jonathan Nelson(6 to 0), Caelan Ducker(6-4) and Edgar Guzman(6-0).  Nelson teamed with Jeffery Hale to get a 6 to 0 win in doubles. The Westwood Middle School soccer team traveled to Fayetteville on Wednesday to tangle with their conference rival Tigers.  The Rockets got their offense untracked as they posted 9 goals in a 9 to 0 decision over Fayetteville. Preds Fall to Stars in Playoff Opener

P.K. Subban scored late, but the Predators were unable to complete the comeback as they fell in Game 1 to the Dallas Stars, 3-2, at Bridgestone Arena. The result gives the Stars a 1-0 series lead in the first-ever postseason meeting between the two clubs.
