The Coffee County CHS softball welcomed Lawrence County to Terry Floyd Field on Sunday.   Sunday was set aside as Senior Day as the six Lady Raiders were honored prior to the game.  A poor defensive performance by Coffee County cost them a regular season district title as they fell to the visits Lady Cats 5 to 0. After going unbeaten in 13 conference games this season, the Coffee County Middle School baseball team finally saw their streak come to an end on Saturday.  Squaring off against Tullahoma in the winner’s bracket finals, the Red Raiders gave up 4 unearned runs as they fell 7 to 2. The Westwood softball team is “heading to the ‘ship” as they captured a semifinal win on Friday night in the Duck River Valley postseason tournament.  The Lady Rockets had to rally in the 5th inning to get the exciting win over Community.  Westwood won by a final score of 7 to 5 at Dave King Park. The Coffee County Central Middle softball team opened play in the Central Tennessee Conference postseason tournament on Friday.  Taking on Tullahoma, the Lady Raiders scored in every inning as they punched their ticket to the semifinals with a 14 to 2 win. The Lady Raiders jumped on Tullahoma for a pair of runs in the 1st inning only to see the Lady Cats tie the game in the 2nd.  The Lady Raiders rallied back to score 4 runs in the 3rd to regain the momentum and shut down Tullahoma the rest of the way. Ten members of the Coffee County Central High School tennis team got the necessary 2 wins to advance to Saturday’s semifinals of the District 8 tennis tournament on Friday.  Three individuals qualified in the JV tournament.  Seven varsity netters will represent Coffee County in the final 2 rounds on Saturday. An injured plagued and short-handed Coffee County Central High School softball team opened up play in their Coffee County Classic on Friday with a pair of games at Terry Floyd Field.  The Lady Raiders were held to 2 hits in an 11 to 0 loss to Baylor in the opener.  In the nightcap, the Lady Raiders bounced back to cruise to a 12 to 4 win. The Westwood soccer team entered play on Friday night in the Central Tennessee Soccer Conference postseason tournament as the top seed.  The Rockets were looking to punch their ticket to their 6th straight conference title game and their 5th straight conference championship.  Cascade had other plans as they stunned the Rockets 2 to 1 to end Westwood’s season. The Westwood tennis team welcomed St. Andrews-Sewanee to Fred Deadman Park on Friday.  The Lady Rockets kept their hot streak alive as they captured a 6 to 1 win.  The Rockets fell to the Mountain Lions 6 to 1.
