The Coffee County CHS softball team opened up postseason play on Thursday night in the District 8AAA softball tournament in Shelbyville.  In a game you heard here on Thunder Radio, the Lady Raiders jumped on Lincoln County in the 1st inning.  Coffee County captured the win 7 to 1 to advance to the district semifinals. The Westwood Middle School closed out their season on Thursday as they traveled to Columbia.  The Lady Rockets battled to a 4 to 3 win.  The Rockets battled hard but came up short 4 to 3. The Lady Rockets got wins in singles play from Rylea McNamara(5 to 0), Anna Johnson(5 to 2) and Sarah Khan(5 to 2).  McNamara and Johnson teamed up in doubles play to capture a 5 to 2 win and clinch the match for the Lady Rockets. The Coffee County Middle School track team traveled to Murfreesboro on Thursday for the TMSAA Class AA Sectional meet at Riverdale.  Competing in the field events, the Raider harriers were attempting to qualify for the TMSAA state championships which will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Fortera Stadium on the campus of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
