Coffee County Baseball and Softball Players Named to All-District Squads

With the high school baseball and softball seasons coming to a close, the Coffee County Central High School teams featured several deserving candidates for the recently named All-District teams.  For the Red Raiders, Skylar Bratcher and Hayden Skipper were named to the District 8AAA All-District baseball team.  Skipper, a junior, led the Raiders in most hitting categories for the year.  Skipper led the team in batting average(.376), home runs(4), doubles(10), triples(4), hits(35) and walks(25).  On the mound, Skipper finished with a record of 3 and 4 while leading the team in innings pitched with 38 and strikeouts with 66. ...

The Coffee County Lady Raider softball team opened up play in the Region 4AAA tournament at Terry Floyd Field on Monday.  Facing off against a team that has been ranked in the Top 10 in the state all year, the Lady Raiders needed to put together their best performance of the season to spring the upset. Coffee County Middle School Track Teams Shine at CTC Championship

The Coffee County Middle School track team captured a team championship and a 2nd place team finish on Monday in the Central Tennessee Conference Meet at Tullahoma.  The Lady Raiders outdistanced second place East Tullahoma by 17 points.  The Red Raiders came in 2nd place as they finished 16 points behind 1st place South Franklin. Coffee County’s Benedict Edinger Falls in Region Singles Tournament

Coffee County Red Raider tennis player Benedict Edinger carried the mantle for the Red Raider tennis program on Monday as he competed in the Region singles tournament in Murfreesboro.  Edinger, who won led the Red Raider team to a 13 and 1 season record, won the regular season singles title. In the region tournament, Edinger fell in straight sets(2-6, 0-6) to Siegel tennis’ Hussain Alzubaidi.    Edinger, a foreign exchange student, has been the guest of Dewayne and Linda Conklin this school year.  Benedict will return home to Germany on May...

Three individuals and 1 relay team of the Coffee County CHS track team punched their ticket for the TSSAA State Meet on Friday.  Competing at the Section 2(Large) track meet at Rhea County High School, Coffee County kept their streak alive as they will have an athlete at the state meet for the 28th straight year. The Coffee County Red Raider tennis team traveled to Murfreesboro to square off against Central Magnet in the Region Team Tournament.  Entering the match with a season record of 13 and 0, the Red Raiders needed a win to advance to their first ever sectional berth.  The Raiders season came to a close as they were swept by the Tigers of Central Magnet. CHS Soccer Season Ends in District Finals at Shelbyville

After not allowing a goal for more than three hundred minutes the Coffee County CHS soccer team surrendered their first goal since April 25th.  A penalty kick in the 29th minute by Shelbyville proved to be the only score in Thursday’s District 8AAA finals.   Coffee County saw their season come to a close in the 1 to 0 loss to the Eagles in Shelbyville.
