Coffee County Red Raider Football Announces Revised Schedule
With the high school football season right around the corner, Coffee County CHS football coach Doug Greene has announced an updated schedule for the upcoming season. After an initial schedule was released late last year, Rockvale was added to the region by the TSSAA forcing a schedule revision. Earlier in the summer, Rockvale needed to move their game with Coffee County to accommodate a request from the Rutherford County School System. TSSAA Dead Period Ends; Local Teams Resume Workouts
Sunday marked the end of the mandatory 2 week dead period for TSSAA schools. Beginning on Sunday, coaches and players could hold workouts and teams could open up school facilities for summer workouts and conditioning as outlined in the TSSAA handbook for each individual sport. Nashville finished a tough series against Omaha Sunday, losing 10-5 and was officially swept by the Storm Chasers. It was a close game through the first half of the game until Omaha pulled away from Nashville. The Nashville Sounds found themselves behind early when the Omaha Storm Chasers put up eight-runs in the first inning. A first half lead turned into a second half nightmare as Nashville Soccer Club saw its halftime lead evaporate at the home of the two-time defending USL Cup champions with two second half Louisville City goals winning the match 2-1. The Nashville Sounds’ offense was quiet for the second game in a row in Omaha, as the Sounds fell 9-2 to the Storm Chasers on Friday night at Werner Park. Coffee County CHS Dance Team Raising Funds and Headed to Camp
The Coffee County CHS dance team will be taking part in the Universal Dance Association camp July 15 – 18 at the University of Alabama Huntsville. They will be competing Monday, July 15 at camp with the intent to come home with lots of awards. They will also have girls competing for All-American honors as well.
