The Nashville Sounds scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back in a road trip-opening 11-5 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Matt Davidson started the offensive barrage with a three-run homer off Oklahoma City starter J.D. Martin in the first inning. Andy Ibanez joined the home run derby with a solo blast in the second inning and Patrick Wisdom launched a two-run shot in the eighth. For Davidson, it was his team-leading 28th of the season. Cross Country Teams Get Season Underway in Saturday Meet

The Coffee County CHS and Coffee County Middle School cross country teams hit the ground running on Saturday night as they opened the cross country season at Siegel.  Competing in the annual Siegel “Under the Stars” race series, both boys’ and girls’ teams posted strong performances. The CCMS runners competed in the 1.5 mile heats.  Sophie McInturff turned in the best performance of the night capturing the race win with a time of 10:08.43.  Greenlee Woods finished 3rd in that heat and 4th overall with a time of 10:27.18 out of a field of 117 runners.  Ella Arnold posted...

Coffee County Middle School Soccer Ends Preseason with Saturday Playday Scrimmages

The Coffee County Middle School soccer team hosted their 15th Annual Kickin Cancer Playday at CCMS on Saturday.  12 teams did battle on the hot day before a huge crowd.  At the end of the day, a portion of the gate proceeds will benefit a local cancer charity. The Sounds were unable to complete a four-game sweep against Omaha Sunday night, losing 7-4. Nashville scored runs in the eighth and ninth inning but were unable to stage a comeback.
