The Coffee County Middle School soccer team welcomed White County to their home pitch on Thursday. Coffee County Volleyball Gets District Road Win at Lincoln County
Looking to shake off a tough road loss to Columbia on Tuesday night, the Coffee County CHS volleyball team traveled to Fayetteville to take on Lincoln County. The two talented teams pushed the match to 5 full sets before the Lady Raiders pulled out the exciting win. Coffee County won by set scores of 25-19, 26-28, 14-25, 25-17 and 16-14. The Coffee County Middle School cross country team opened their season in McMinnville on Thursday. Taking part in the Pioneer Invitational at Warren County Middle School against 5 teams the Raiders got a pair of team wins. For the first time in school history, the Raiders were able to field a girls’ team. All 5 Coffee County Lady Raider runners finished in the top 15 in the convincing win. The Westwood football team played host to perennial conference power Fayetteville on Thursday night at Dyer-Bouldin Field. After a hard fought first half, Fayetteville rolls up 3 touchdowns in the second half to win 32 to 7. It appeared that the Rockets and Tigers would go to the half scoreless before Fayetteville scored with less than 20 seconds on the clock in the 2nd quarter. The Coffee County Middle School volleyball team welcomed old rival Tullahoma to the CCMS gym on Thursday for their 2nd match of the year. An injury and illness riddled Lady Raider team were looking for the season sweep in the series. Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota had the night off, and so did the rest of the team’s starters. On the final road game of the season, the Sounds defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers 8-4 on Thursday night. Matt Davidson launched his 32nd home run in the season to lead the Sounds’ offense.
