Westwood Volleyball Grabs Doubleheader Win on Thursday

The Westwood volleyball team welcomed North Franklin to the Joel Vinson Gym on Thursday.  Hosting the visiting Lady Gators in a doubleheader, Westwood looked to continue to show improvement.  The Lady Rockets did exactly that and gave head coach Kinda Baxter her 1st(and 2nd) career wins in the process as they swept North Franklin. The Coffee County Middle School soccer team welcomed Tullahoma to the CCMS pitch on Thursday.  In a match you heard here on Thunder Radio, the Lady Raiders were looking to keep their 2 game winning streak intact.  Despite playing a strong 2nd half, the Lady Raiders fell 3 nil. Coffee County CHS Volleyball Sweeps Franklin County

Coffee County CHS volleyball team hosted district foe Franklin County on Thursday at “The Patch”.  Needing a crucial win to stay in the hunt in the district race, the Lady Raiders got it.  Coffee County swept the visiting Rebelettes in straight sets 25-13, 25-20 and 25-16. Westwood Football Gets Big Win at Community

Hitting the road on Thursday night, the Westwood football team traveled to Unionville to take on Community.  The Rockets got their 2nd road win of the year in a 22 to 10 victory of the Vikings. Coffee County CHS Soccer Fights to Draw with Shelbyville

The Coffee County CHS soccer team hit the road on Thursday as they traveled to Shelbyville.  Hoping to move to 4 and 0 in district play, the Lady Raiders battled a dangerous Eaglette team on their home pitch.  After an 80 minute, back and forth physical battle; Coffee County and Shelbyville settled for a 3 to 3 draw. The Coffee County CHS golf team welcomed Shelbyville to Willowbrook on Thursday.  Taking on the Eagles in a 9 hole match, both the Raiders and Lady Raiders fell to the visiting Eagle linksters.  The Red Raiders fell 173 to 167.  The Lady Raiders fell 118 to 92. Westwood Cross Country Runners Open Season With Strong Performance

The Westwood cross country team opened their season on Thursday in Bell Buckle in a meet hosted by Webb.  While team scores were not available at press time, 3 Rocket runners and 5 Lady Rocket runners finished in the Top 50 of their respective divisions.
