Kelvin Verge of CHS football The Coffee County football team celebrated Senior Night and Breast Cancer Awareness on a rainy Friday night.  The Red Raiders welcomed the state’s top ranked Oakland Patriots to Carden-Jarrell Field for their final home game of the season.  The defending state champions showed why they are the state’s top team as they crushed the Red Raiders 80 to 6. After the Coffee County defense stopped Oakland and made them settle for a field goal in their first possession, the Patriots got 4 touchdowns in the 1st quarter and 4 more in the 2nd quarter...

Westwood Lady Rockets with their Morrison Tournament Championship trophy[Photo provided] The Westwood basketball teams traveled to Morrison on Friday night for the final night of the Morrison Ruritan Preseason Tournament.  The Rockets shook off their jitters from Thursday night to get a 37 to 18 win over Dibrell in the tournament’s consolation game.  The Lady Rockets continued their tournament dominance with a 36 to 18 win over Morrison.  In the boys game, the Rockets held Dibrell scoreless in the 3rd quarter to push a 9 point halftime lead to 17 points entering the 4th quarter.  Jayden Carter led Westwood...

Coffee County Youth Bass Club Has Strong Showing at Center Hill on Saturday

The Coffee County Youth Bass Club was in action on Saturday in a Central Tennessee Region Bass Nation Tournament.  Six Raider high school boats were in action competing on Center Hill Lake in the rain.  Four of the Coffee County teams, out of 69 boats, finished in the Top 20.  The boat of Jacob Garms and Jase Rice were the top finishing Coffee County boat as they caught 4 fish totaling 8.23 pounds with a big fish of 2.52 pounds.  The team of Kaden Freeze and Briley Sain finished in 12th place as they caught 3 fish totaling 5.61...

The Manchester Red Raiders flag division closed out the 2019 season 3-3. 0-1 in the playoffs. JR Division (8-9 year olds) The Manchester Red Raiders JR Division also faced Gordonsville in the play offs and could not find their way to the end zone. Two first half goals and a late game clincher were more than enough to seal Nashville SC’s first-ever playoff victory, a 3-1 win over Charleston Battery at First Tennessee Park on Saturday night.
