The Lady Rockets used their smothering man to man defense to blast the Lady Bulldogs 35 to 8. The Rockets captured a 25 to 14 win over the league’s preseason champions. The injury–ravaged Red Raiders squared off against the freshmen from Riverdale. Riverdale scored on 4 plays of 39 yards or more to stun the Raiders 38 to 21. Coffee County Basketball Teams Gain Honors at District 8AAA Media Days
The media and basketball coaches of District 8AAA met in Fayetteville to preview the upcoming season. Both boys’ and girls’ coaches for each of the district teams spoke to members of the assembled media at the Hampton Inn in Fayetteville before fielding questions. Coffee County’s Joe Pat Cope and Micah Williams spoke of their expectations for the coming year along with their performances in summer camps and preseason conditioning workouts.
