Central High School basketball teams begin practice Monday
Monday, Nov. 2 is the first official day of practice for the Central High School Red Raider and Lady Raider basketball teams for the 2020-2021 seasons. Both teams are looking to defend their District 8-AAA titles and make deep postseason runs. Rocket sixth grade basketball teams sweep Warren County
Westwood’s sixth grade Lady Rocket basketball team cruised to a 39-21 win over Warren County Thursday night in Manchester. Jules Ferrell and Reece Finch each reached double-digit points with 15 and 12, respectively. Bella Van Zandbergen had six points, Faythe Irons 4 and Anna Reed 2. As we reported to you earlier this week, the Central High School Red Raider football game that was scheduled to be at home tonight against Riverdale has been cancelled. Final high school home football game cancelled
Coffee County Central High School’s final home football game of the season has been cancelled. The Raiders were set to host the Riverdale Warriors at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Central High School athletic director Rebecca Koger told Thunder Radio News on Wednesday morning that the game has been cancelled and will not be made up. It was scheduled to be senior night. Koger said the team will work something out for a later date to celebrate seniors. The cancellation is just one of many cancellations across the state this season because of COVID-19 related issues. Titans add Bates, Quessenberry to 53-man roster
The Titans on Tuesday promoted linebacker Daren Bates and offensive lineman David Quessenberry from the team’s practice squad to the 53-man roster. Also today, the team signed linebacker Will Compton the practice squad after waiving him from the active roster on Monday.
