Westwood’s Lady Rockets put the hammer down early and never let up Tuesday afternoon, picking up a dominating 18-0 road win over Fayetteville Middle School. BASEBALL: Rockets rout Huntland 13-3

Westwood got four solid innings out of Trevor Jesse and consistent hitting at the plate to pull away from Huntland in a 13-3 win Monday night in Manchester. Davis McKenzie, Brayden Trail and Owen Whitsett all picked up two RBIs at the plate to lead the Rocket offensive attack. Whitsett finished with a pair of hits. Morton hits 96 in spring debut for Braves

It was a great Spring Training debut for right-hander Charlie Morton during the Braves’ 5-4 victory over the Red Sox at CoolToday Park in Venice, Fla., on Sunday afternoon. Morton pitched three shutout innings and struck out three batters. Even more impressive was that his fastball was clocked as high as 96 mph.
