Motlow Bucks Open 2015 Baseball Season Feb. 5
The Bucks have scheduled 56 games during the regular season, with 30 at home and 26 on the road. Motlow will open Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) play on Friday, Feb. 27, with a three-game home series against Jackson State. The regular season ends on Apr. 25, in Morristown against Walters State.
All conference series are three games, with a single nine-inning game played on Friday and a pair of seven-inning games as part of a Saturday doubleheader. The only exception is Easter weekend, when Motlow will host Cleveland State in the single game on Thursday and the doubleheader on Friday, April 3.
Head Coach Dan McShea, set to begin his ninth season at the helm of the Motlow program, led the Bucks to a 40-24 record and a trip to the NJCAA East Central District tournament in Covington, Ga., after finishing runner-up in the TCCAA/Region VII tournament to state champion Columbia State. Motlow lost to host Georgia Perimeter, while Columbia State won and advanced to the JUCO World Series.
The 2014 run was the first time a Motlow baseball team had advanced beyond the TCCAA/Region VII tournament since 2000, when the Bucks enjoyed the greatest season in school history, making it all the way to the JUCO World Series championship game before falling.
