The Motlow Lady Bucks came into this week’s TCCAA/Region VII Tournament as the No. 9 seed. Motlow took on 8 seed Roane St on Tuesday. Motlow finished the season at 7-20 after a 71-65 loss.
Roane St moves on in the tournament with a matchup against the No. 1 seeded Walters State Lady Senators the No. 8 in the nation in the latest NJCAA poll.
The Motlow Bucks are the No. 2 seed in this week’s TCCAA/Region VII Tournament and will play their first game on Thursday at 6 p.m. The tournament is being played at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis. The Bucks (22-5, 14-4) finished second in the conference during the regular season and received a first-round bye in the tournament, despite losing their final regular season game 98-75 to Columbia State Saturday afternoon in Columbia.
The winner of the TCCAA/Region VII Tournament receives an automatic bid to the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., beginning March 16. Due to their outstanding overall records; Motlow, Columbia and Southwest will each be considered for a ‘wild-card’ invitation to the national tournament if they don’t win the TCCAA tournament.
