The Coffee County golf teams traveled to Fayetteville to take on Lincoln County on Tuesday. The Lady Raiders continued their winning ways with a 73-117 victory. Hollee Sadler led the way with a 1-under 35 over 9 holes followed by Jacque Crossland with a 38. The girls will be back in action next week sporting a 33-0 record.
In boy’s play the Raiders suffered a difficult loss dropping the District 8-AAA match by 5 shots 164-169. Justin Hall had the low score with a 41, his low round of the year. Hayden Proffitt shot a 42 followed by Jacob Prater and John Parrriger scoring 43’s on the day.
The boys will try and improve with a 3-way match against Grundy and Cannon Counties on Thursday at home.

The Westwood Lady Rockets soccer team opened their 2014 season on the road in Wartrace taking on Cascade on Tuesday night. The Rockets ran into a hot shooting Lady Champions team that dropped the Lady Rockets 5 to 1. Jessica Barrera got the lone Westwood goal as she knocked in a penalty kick for the Lady Rockets. The Lady Rockets will travel to Sewanee next Thursday to take on St. Andrews. That match will kick off at 4:30.

The Lady Raider volleyball team of Coffee County Middle School dropped a tough 2 set match in McMinnville on Tuesday night. Amanda Mukai had 2 aces dig and a kill to lead Coffee County. The JV team got a 3 set win over the Lady Pioneers. Willow Justiss and Anabelle Layne each served 3 aces to help lead the JV Lady Raiders to the win. The Lady Raiders will be back in action this weekend in Nashville at the Donaldson Christian Tournament.

In high school action, the Lady Raider soccer team travelled to Hamilton County to take on Ooltewah for a varsity and JV scrimmage on Tuesday night. In JV action, the Lady Raiders put 18 shots on frame in route to a 6 to 2 win. Holli Smithson, Maggie Lashlee and Ashley Woods each had 2 goals for the Lady Raiders. In varsity action, the lady Raiders dropped a 4 to 2 contest. Coffee County got both of their goals from freshman Eliza Masters. The Lady Raiders travel to Murfreesboro on Thursday for their final preseason scrimmage as they will take on Oakland. The JV will kick off at 5, with the varsity following at 7. The regular season opens up next Tuesday as they play host to Soddy Daisy at Carden-Jarrell Field. The varsity match will kickoff at 7.
