Brianna Jones pitched a one-hitter and had a homerun as the Coffee County softballers picked up a 9-0 win in five innings over Lake Zurich, Illinois on Friday in the Southern Classic in Murfreesboro.
The big inning was the 3rd when the Lady raiders plated 8 of their 9 runs.
Jones struck out 11 as she picked up her 7th win of the year.
Coffee County got 2 hits and 2 RBI’s from Kaylee Skipper and Brittany Williams contributed 2 RBI’s.
In game two on Friday Coffee County took on Lauderdale County, Alabama.
Tori Bell, Haley Hinshaw, Kaylee Skipper, Brianna Jones, Rhianna Roberson and Shelby Scrivnor all provided one RBI each in the 9-1 win. The Lady Raiders scored 4 in the first and cruised to the win.
Tori Bell, Haley Hinshaw and Brittany Williams had 2 hits each and Skipper was the winning pitcher.
On Saturday afternoon Coffee County took on defending Class-AAA state champs, Dickson County in the Southern Classic. Pitcher Kaylee Skipper went the distance as the Lady Raiders fell for the first time this season, 7-4.
Coffee County 8-1 on the year was led by Rhianna Roberson who had 2 hits and an RBI. Ashlynn Morton, Brittany Williams and Haley Hinshaw added an RBI each.
Another great effort by Brianna Jones led the Coffee County Central Lady Raiders to a 2-0 win over Lakota West, Ohio on Saturday.
Jones had 16 strikeouts gave up just two hits over seven shutout innings.
Tori Bell had two RBIs with one on a solo homer, her first of the year.
The Lady Raiders finished 4-1 in the Southern Classic and are now 9-1 on the season.
Coffee County will travel to Franklin County for district action on Monday.
