Lady Raider Softball Stays Perfect in District

Four plus three equals seven. It was just that easy on Tuesday night as Haley Hinshaw had a home run and a triple to lift the Coffee County Lady Raider softball team to a 7 and 0 district record with a 3 to 2 win at Shelbyville. Hinshaw hit a 2 run homer in the top of the first to drive home Claire Spellings, who was in as a courtesy runner for Tori Bell, to give the Raiders a 2 to 0 lead until the 4th inning. With 1 out in the 4th, Hinshaw laced a 1 out triple into the right field corner and scored on Lauren Tomberlin’s sacrifice bunt to give Kaylee Skipper all the offensive support she would need. Skipper pitched a complete game 5 hitter as she fanned 4 Eaglettes. The Lady Raiders are off until Friday when they travel to McMinnville for a non-district game with Warren County. That game is set to be played in front of the Warren County student body and will get underway at 1:45 PM. Thunder Radio will be on hand to bring you the live broadcast as Lucky Knott will be on the call.
