Two injury-riddled Westwood Rocket basketball teams made the long trip to Eagleville on Monday night and earned a split in the conference doubleheader. The Lady Rockets used a strong 2nd quarter to open up a nine point halftime lead on their way to a 27 to 16 win over the Lady Eagles. Ashley Starks led the Lady Rockets with 10 points while Karen Medina and Haley Miller each added 6 points.
The Rockets could not overcome the Eagles size advantage in the paint as they dropped a 46 to 25 decision to the Eagles. Chase Simpkins and Jake Hollandsworth each netted 6 points for Westwood. Westwood will be back at home on Thursday night as they play host to Middle Tennessee Christian in a conference matchup. The girls game will tip-off at 6:00 PM.
